Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the EMS power system applications portfolio, including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Frequency Control, Load Forecasting, and OTS
- Design, develop, test, validate, and implement modifications and enhancements to EMS applications
- Support proactive enhancements, improvements, and issue remediation for OTS and real-time power system applications
- Support State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Dispatcher Load Flow, Load Forecast, and Load Frequency Control applications
- Coordinate application setup and testing with Market Participants as required
- Perform periodic model load testing within Energy and Market Management Systems
- Update real-time model data in accordance with established procedures
- Design and test Energy and Market Management System interfaces and Web/Client-Server application changes
- Verify and support EMS applications during system site failovers
- Validate Energy and Market Management applications during server, system, database upgrades, and patching activities
- Support EMS Disaster Recovery Drills and business continuity procedures
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair EMS and OTS applications and interfaces
- Investigate complex application issues and escalate issues appropriately
- Work with database administrators and infrastructure teams to resolve application issues involving servers, networks, storage, and databases
- Test non-functional requirements for EMS application changes and coordinate testing with infrastructure and database teams
- Participate in multifunctional teams to provide application support and perform technical studies
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert for EMS and OTS applications
- Represent the GMS Grid Engineering team at interdepartmental and stakeholder meetings
- Develop tools, processes, and procedures that improve system reliability and departmental efficiency
- Support system changes and implementation activities across departments
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to engineers and analysts as assigned
- Work independently on complex assignments and projects
- Evaluate application scenarios involving multiple technical and operational factors
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and technical teams
- Apply knowledge of emerging trends and industry best practices in power system applications

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience providing comparable knowledge may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience beyond degree requirements.
