Job Overview
We are seeking a Business Operations Analyst / Data Analyst to support business operations, data quality, reporting, strategic planning, and cross-functional relationship management. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing business and operational data, improving workflows, documenting data processes, supporting data governance, and working with stakeholders across multiple teams.
The role will contribute to initiatives focused on improving team efficiency and productivity, maintaining the quality of data products, supporting KPI tracking and strategic planning, and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end data mapping across assigned data sources, systems, and reporting layers.
Document business definitions, transformation logic, metadata, and data lineage .
Work with data owners and data stewards to resolve discrepancies and establish consistent data definitions.
Analyze business workflows, identify process gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Implement and monitor data quality rules , track exceptions, and support remediation activities.
Maintain data catalog, metadata, and business glossary documentation.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for change control and data-mapping processes.
Prepare status reports, governance documentation, and data governance scorecards .
Assist with developing training materials and provide training to business users and stakeholders.
Track and audit purchase order expenditures , identify variances, and support operational planning.
Review and validate financial and budget data to ensure accuracy and support workflow recommendations.
Apply financial considerations, including budgets and cost drivers, to operational planning and process recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support strategic initiatives, KPI tracking, project oversight, and other business operations projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field , or equivalent professional experience.
3 5+ years of experience in business operations, business analysis, data analytics, or a closely related field.
Strong analytical, conceptual, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills .
Foundational financial literacy , including understanding budgets, cost drivers, expenditures, and basic financial reports.
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools .
Understanding of business operations, process improvement, and operational best practices .
Experience identifying root causes, evaluating options, and making timely business decisions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills .
Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with changing and competing demands.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated professional integrity, accountability, and strong work ethic.
Experience supporting relationship management, project oversight, and strategic initiatives .
Ability to understand and apply the data analysis lifecycle within a business environment.
Ability to receive critical feedback and adapt approaches accordingly.
2+ years of experience with data lineage tools and methodologies.
Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data catalogs .
Experience documenting data mapping and transformation processes.
Experience supporting KPI reporting, strategic planning, or performance management initiatives.
